Groundbreaking ceremony for new Switzerland site

The company management of Afag has been analyzing the future of Switzerland as a production location since right after the "Frankenshock," when the Swiss National Bank abruptly abandoned its cap on the Swiss franc in 2015, and determined that the country continues to offer good long-term opportunities as a manufacturing site. This led to the decision of developing a new construction project at the Zell location in Switzerland. The municipality of Zell in the Canton of Lucerne offers an attractive environment for construction and as a new site, and it is also well represented.

The future Afag Automation AG site in Zell will replace the rented building in Huttwil. The new space will provide the company with optimal conditions for handling all business processes. As a Schaeff Group company, this new building represents Afag's long-term commitment to its roots and its 125 employees in Switzerland, as well as its international partners and customers.
